The Bill & Ted train is on a roll. With Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter set to reprise their roles as the bodacious buds, the film’s villain is now set. Fresh off an excellent season two of HBO’s Barry, Anthony Carrigan has been cast opposite the two returning stars.
It’s been nearly three decades since Bill and Ted went on their bogus journey, and fans of the duo have been waiting for their return. Reeves is in peak renaissance mode right now, and Carrigan turned Barry’s NoHo Hank from a character who was supposed to die in the pilot episode into a series regular and a fan favorite.
It’s a testament of Carrigan’s acting chops to earn the reception he’s made with Hank. Taking one episode and creating a strong enough portrayal that creators Bill Hader and Alec Berg had no choice but to bring the character back. Now, teaming up with Reeves and Winters, Carrigan can expound his abilities from a lauded show into a big screen feature.
Bill & Ted Face the Music is slated for a summer release in 2020.
