From November 29th to December 5th, the Film Society of Lincoln Center will host Making Waves: New Romanian Cinema. This is a Romanina film festival that highlights some of the best films coming out of the country right now, including Beyond the Hills, the latest film from Cristian Mungiu (4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days), and Of Snails and Men, which is based on a true story and reminiscent of The Full Monty.
Twelve recent Romanian films will be shown. There will also be a short film program, five retrospective screenings (a few of which are free to the public), and a number of panels/discussions about the arts and culture in Europe.
We’ll have reviews of a few of the films at the festival next week, and possibly the week after. For a screening schedule and more info on the Making Waves film series at Lincoln Center, go here.
