Bill Murray confirmed that we will be appearing in Wes Anderson’s next film, The Grand Budapest Hotel. This comes from “A Day Spent Packing with Bill Murray”, a really fun feature/interview from New York Magazine that appeared on Vulture in expanded form. Here’s the key excerpt:
“I’m about to go shoot a movie with Wes Anderson in Germany,” Murray said. “If you see me in Germany, I’ll be working on a movie.”
[Soccer player Arne] Friedrich left and Murray reentered the room. “That’ll be nice,” he said about Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel. “I haven’t been to Germany in a long time.”
Murray joins Johnny Depp, Jude Law (who’d been begging Anderson for a role for years), Owen Wilson, and Angela Lansbury. I recommend checking out the piece in Vulture since it captures Murray’s charm so well. If you need more incentive to read it, there’s mention of Moonrise Kingdom, Hyde Park on Hudson, and Chicago-style hot dogs. You know you want to.
