I’m going to repeat that so you can let it sink in. Oscar Issac playing Solid Snake.
I’ll continue by saying that this is nowhere near official, but can you imagine? I’ve seen many fans casting this role over the years from the likes of Christian Bale, Scott Eastwood, and, of course, the voice of Solid Snake himself, David Hayter. These choices would be great if any of them came to fruition but with Oscar Isaac expressing interest in playing the main character of most of the Metal Gear games (it’s complicated), is an exciting prospect.
I have to reiterate that this is not a done deal or even close to happening. Then why so excited? If you must ask, it is because when asked which video game movie he would want to be a part of he responded “Metal Gear Solid, that’s the one,” and “I’m throwing my hat in for that one.”
What’s that you say? Actors give answers like that all the time you say?
This could be a throwaway answer, but this happened after a mockup was done portraying Isaac as Solid Snake back in August. Jordan Vogt-Roberts, the director of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid movie, has come forward on his Twitter to say that it was his suggestion for the artist to make the mockup in the first place.

This could be very exciting if this actually comes to be. Oscar Isaac has the look and certainly the talent to pull off a great Solid Snake. Here’s hoping that he takes the ball and runs with it all the way to Shadow Moses.
