Pennywise has been dreaming about this day. He’s come back after 27 years and he’s hungry.
This chapter picks up with the adult versions of our characters from the first movie. Most have grown up and moved away, but one stayed and retained the memories of the malevolent clown, while the others’ memories of the incidents faded. The adults have come back to town now and the nightmares are flooding back.
This newest adaptation of the Stephen King property looks like it has upped the scares from the first movie and definitely the blood. The first trailer that was released focused, in particular, on a tense scene of Beverly returning to her old home and having an encounter with one of Pennywise’s forms. This time around, a scene involving an amusement park and a hall of mirrors is a highlight of creepiness the demonic clown entity has cooked up for the group. These creepy scenes seem to just be the start of the torment Pennywise has in store for the Losers Club and the town of Derry.
The sequel has recruited a fantastic cast of actors to fill out the adult roles including Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, and Bill Hader. Andres Muschietti has once again taken the helm for the sequel and of course Pennywise himself, Bill Skarsgard, is back to wreak havoc.
