By The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise sure has had its ups and downs (more downs recently), but regardless of how we all may feel, it’s going to keep on chugging. The fifth film in the franchise has been in production for awhile (announced sometime right after On Stranger Tides) and now it officially has a title.
According to This is Infamous, during an interview with directors Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg, the title of the fifth film of the franchise is Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Anyone familiar with pirate lore (or the Disney ride itself) should be familiar with the title. While no other information was mined, this should be enough for now. I actually liked On Stranger Tides but felt it could’ve done without the forced romance. If the fifth film is another standalone Jack Sparrow adventure, I’m cool with that.
