It’s difficult to really care about news surrounding the production of yet another Pirates of the Caribbean movie, but nonetheless, Disney has now revealed the official title and synopsis of Captain Jack Sparrow’s next drunken adventure at sea.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is surely a mouthful, but let’s not judge a book by it’s cover, as The Rise/Dawn of the Planet of the Apes movies has taught us. As usual, it’s about pirates whom seeks to kill other pirates, and of course with a supernatural twist; Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea…including him. Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.
Kon-Tiki directors, Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg is back in open waters to direct the movie, which holds a certain amount of potential. If nothing else, we’ll have Javier Bardem play a villain with the name Salazar, so it’s automatically more enjoyable than one would initially imagine.
