By Michael Winterbottom’s Trishna will be arriving in cinemas this year, starring the gorgeous Freida Pinto. The director isn’t resting on his laurels when it comes to putting the loveliness on-screen though: the adorable Anna Friel, most recognisable to American audiences from Pushing Daisies and Land Of The Lost, gorgeous rising star Imogen Poots of 28 Weeks Later and Fright Night fame, and very blonde St. Trinian’s girl Tamsin Egerton will all be joining his next film, King Of Soho.
The movie will star Winterbottom’s regular collaborator Steve Coogan as notorious porn and property tycoon Paul Raymond, a leading figure in developing the Soho area into London’s striptease mecca. Friel will play Raymond’s wife Jean, Egerton will play his mistress Fiona, and Poots will be his daughter, Debbie. The comedy-drama is being written by Matt Greenhalgh, who also penned the John Lennon biopic Nowhere Boy.
