Rian Johnson, director of the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi, announced in an instagram post yesterday that post-production has wrapped for them film. Johnson congratulated his post-production team for their continued efforts and hard work on the film, and said he’s “Going to miss sitting in dark rooms with these goobers.”

For what looks to be one of the most ambitious Star Wars, post-production wrapped in record time. Both Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Rouge One: A Star Wars Story didn’t escape post-production until weeks before their release dates. With nearly 3 months until the December release date, this is one of the more expediently produced Star Wars films ever (Hey, 19 months might seem like a long time, but for a multi-million dollar film that’s an 8 minute mile.)
With post-production settled, there’s no doubt that a trailer is on the way for our viewing pleasure, and no, that’s not just speculation. In a deleted tweet at a fan who asked about a potential new trailer, Mark Hamill said to “watch Monday Night Football on October 9th for no apparent reason.” That tweet has since been deleted, of course, but Hamill’s will was done: we know the next time we’ll be getting a taste of the new The Last Jedi.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi releases in a galaxy near you on December 15, 2017.
