Perhaps a prescient meditation on the fallout of a society antagonizing each other over the internet, or a dumb-fun blastathon of battle royale ultraviolence, Guns Akimbo looks like it’s going to be a wild and wonderful ride.
The trailer (which is above, in case your eyes were immediately drawn to this sexy-ass text) oozes style with splashy neon-lit corridors and grimy characters costumed in the style of Doomsday. In a word, it’s cool.
The action looks to have the pulse of Hardcore Henry (complete with wise-cracking bum), and hopefully the humor lands more than it misses. The social media stuff had me cringing, but the extended scene of Radcliffe attempting to open a door was fun.
This is the first actioner of 2020 that I think is worth keeping an eye on (no, I’m not forgetting Bond), and I eagerly await for when it sprays and prays into theaters on March 5, 2020.
