By Look, we all know more Rashida Jones in our lives is a good thing. So when it was reported that she’ll be starring along with Andy Samberg (ugh) in Celeste and Jesse Forever, we can all agree that this is a good thing. Right?
Co-written by Jones, and directed by Lee Toland Krieger (director of The Vicious Kind), the film is about a couple seeing if they can be friends after their divorce. Because that always works out well. Jones has been talking the film up recently, comparing it to When Harry Met Sally and Blue Valentine. She’s also said that the film will be “in the vein of Judd Apatow” in terms of strong female characters. Since Samberg has been cast, the film is pushing forward with production starting sometime soon.
Honestly, I’m pretty excited about this one. As much as I can’t stand Andy Samberg, I’m interested to see what he can do with a half-way dramatic role. And it’s good to finally see Rashida Jones in a starring role.
