Anyone who caught writer/director Andrew Bujalski’s Computer Chess knows that he’s got a very, shall we say, interesting take on the romantic comedy genre — in that he almost completely destroys it. His newest film Results looks to veer a little closer the mainstream, but he’s still doing things a bit different with what looks like the most awkward love triangle ever. Bjalski definitely does awkward well.
The full plot explanation is below, but word of out Sundance is that the film only works when Guy Pearce and Cobie Smulders are matching up. I’m inclined to agree with them considering his work so far has been pretty bland.
