By Drew McWeeny over at HitFlix apparently got his hands on an early draft of the Robocop script. And…it sucks.
Judging from Drew’s tweets about the matter, it looks like the draft is filled with nothing but winks and nudges to the first film. Describing a scene where OCP folks are showcasing Robocop action figures, one guy says “Are you serious? I wouldn’t buy that for a dollar!” It’s that kind of crap I was afraid of from day one. Though Drew went on to say that the story is “not terrible”, it’s too little too late after all of the references.
I’d just like to point out that no one has verified the validity of the script yet. Heck, we don’t even know which draft the writers are currently on. Then again, that may just be my inner fanboy going through denial that this movie could ever suck.
