Chris Miller and Phil Lord are awesome. Everything (about them) is awesome. So whatever project they take next will most likely be awesome, and they seem to have some choices. WB is courting them for the upcoming The Flash and Sony wants them for the male Ghostbusters.
This comes from El Mayimbe and Meet The Movie Press, the video podcast featuring Jeff Sneider of The Wrap. It’s a long, semi-interesting chat, but the choice quote is “We’ve heard a bit of a tug of war going on between Warner Bros. and Sony, which would like the same two directors for one of its big franchise movies… If Warner Bros. wanted them for The Flash, and Sony wanted them for a Ghostbusters movie, which would Lord and Miller do?”
With the Russo’s abandoning Ghostbusters for Avengers the franchise is definitely open, but I think I’d rather have these two direct The Flash. The DC cinematic universe needs a lot more fun injected into it and they can bring that. We’ll have to see what they choose, if either is actually on the table.
