By When it rains it pours. With our first look at Assassin’s Creed hitting, Nintendo developing movies and Borderlands getting its own film it shouldn’t be any surprise that a Mega Man film is now rumored to be on the way. The Tracking Board is reporting that 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment have started development on the feature film.
There are no more details on this, but of all the classic gaming franchises out there Mega Man should be one of the easiest to turn into a movie. It’s got fighting robots and a classic good versus evil structure. That being said there are plenty of games that should make good movies and they almost never do so they’ll probably figure out a way to screw this up to. Or maybe, and this is just my hopeless optimism seeping through, Fox has learned something for the Marvel films and realizes that you have to honor the source to make something good.
