By Nicolas Cage has done some pretty great films over his career but one of his more memorable ones is, of course, National Treasure with Disney. The last film National Treasure: Book of Secrets ended on a bit of a cliffhanger hinting that National Treasure 3 or whatever it would be called would follow. Sadly, plans for that never materialized. Fans were upset but we moved on. Now it’s been pretty much confirmed by Bad Boys for Life’s screenwriter Chris Bremner, that he’s actually working on the script for National Treasure 3 , alongside his planned Bad Boys for Life sequel, and Jerry Bruckheimer is returning to produce the sequel.
It’s important to note that this is a rumor as of right now. While Disney has not officially made an announcement, it seems likely that we’ll finally get a National Treasure 3. After it had been stated many times in the past that Disney wasn’t ready to go ahead with plans, things seem to finally be in motion. I am waiting with bated breath for confirmation from Disney themselves before I let myself get too excited because of the past with this franchise. We were told for years it would be coming and it never did. The last film came out in 2007! That’s over a decade of waiting! Will fans still be interested? Hopefully, Disney comes out with the news soon so fans can finally get a definitive answer.
