It seems baby-papa, Ryan Gosling, and all-around-charmer, Emma Stone can’t keep their hands off each other, with Crazy, Stupid, Love and Gangster Squad behind them, they are now in talks to star in Damien Chazelle’s next movie, La La Land.
Originally supposed to star Emma Watson and reunite the Whiplash-director with his wunderkind, Miles Teller, the conversation is now all about the star(let)s, Gosling and Stone for the lead roles. Said to be an old fashioned musical, the movie is a love story between a jazz pianist and an aspiring actress set in contemporary Los Angeles.
This news is not only extremely appealing because of the two beauties, but also because Chazelle is a master of musical-themed movies. While Whiplash certainly is his best, I think his screenplay for Grand Piano is equally worthy of praise, albeit the movie as a whole wasn’t very memorable. With him back in in the director’s chair with a screenplay he penned himself, the odds are it will be very good.
We don’t know why Teller and Watson is no longer attached to the project, but if there was ever an acceptable replacement, this would be it. Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut, Lost River, premiered earlier this month, and it seems he is finally ready to return to the screen, as he is also set to star in Guillermo Del Toro’s, Haunted Mansion.
