By How did I miss this? Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA is making a kung-fu movie called The Man With the Iron Fist. Movieline reports that not only has Eli Roth (who co-wrote the script with RZA) stepped up to produce with Quentin Tarantino, but Russel Crowe is poised to star. Crowe will be cast along side RZA, Lucy Liu, Daniel Wu and Byron Mann.
Not too much has been said in the way of plot. But Film Business Asia has a small synopsis that I’d like to share.
“[RZA plays] a blacksmith who forges weapons for the inhabitants of a village in feudal China. They are forced to defend themselves.â€
Hey, I said it was a short synopsis, don’t give me flack for that. From everything I’ve gathered, it looks like Man with the Iron Fist will be a throwback to kung-fu classics of the 1970s. Personally, I’m very excited for this. The world needs more kung-fu, it’s a scientifically proven fact.
