Sam “Got screwed out of another Spider-Man†Raimi is set to direct a remake of Day of the Triffids, a 1951 novel by John Wyndham about alien plant life that eats people. To make matters worse, most of the world has gone blind after a meteor shower. Triffids was previously made into a movie in 1962, a mini-series in 1981, and yet another miniseries in 2009.
I’m only kind of aware of Day of the Triffids, but it’s about killer plants that eat a blinded human population. This is not only an awesome project for Sam Raimi, but it’s also basically The Happening played for even more laughs. I can’t wait!
