Warner Bros has the worst timing. Not even a week after Casey Kasem’s (the original voice of Shaggy in several Scooby-Doo iterations) death, they have announced plans to reboot the live action Scooby-Doo films (the first two starred Freddie Prinze Jr, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Matthew Lillard, and Linda Cardellini back in the early 2000s) that have gone on to live a life on Cartoon Network as a failed TV movie effort.
I’m hoping WB at least had this planned for a little while before this all went down. I’d hate to think someone’s death spurred this. Given there’s no other details at the moment, the latter seems likely.
