The Raven, directed by James McTeigue, follows a murder mystery where the killer copies the stories of Edgar Allan Poe, played by John Cusack. To add some new elements to the copy cat idea is that Poe’s love, Alice Eve, is captured and he leaves notes along the way in order to not only stop the killings but save his woman.
During the panel, they try to paint a picture of Edgar Allan Poe mentioning things like how he was a rock star and preferred the company of woman but not in a playboy sort of way. It is clear that the actors, or at least Cusack seem to admire the famous author quite a lot.
Despite what the title may inspire, it doesn’t look half bad but I am not a huge fan of period pieces.
