The Monuments Men, one of Flixist’s most anticipated films of the holiday season, looks special. It’s directed by a charming man (George Clooney), with a charming premise (a group museum directors sneak into Nazi Germany in order to save precious art from destruction), and is full of lovable actors (John Goodman, Matt Damon, and some folks like that Bill Murray guy).
While the first trailer for the film painted it as a comedy, this second trailer gives us the stealthily placed depth and drama that Clooney is known for. The film is more about art preservation (and what exactly losing that history will do to the course of war), and that’s just prime(r). The Monuments Men sneaks into theaters and steals the art form December 18th.
