By If you have seen Disney’s live-action take on Aladdin, then you were probably wondering, what’s next? As fans of the original well know, two straight to VHS sequels came out after Aladdin, Return of Jafar and The King of Thieves. Personally, they weren’t terribly bad films but they weren’t amazing either.
Apparently, after the success of live-action version of Aladdin, Disney plans to continue the tale with the live-action version of Return of Jafar. According to sources who spoke exclusively with We Got This Covered, an insider confirmed that Disney has indeed begun production on what we will call Aladdin 2. Good news is that most of the original cast is set to make their return. Now, as this supposed sequel is still in very very early days and is just a rumor we have no other information really. Will Guy Ritchie return? Until we hear from Disney it’s all speculation.
Whether or not fans want to see this will, of course, remain to be seen but since Aladdin did do extremely well at the box office the sequel could be another box office success too.
