By Summer means outdoor movies in many cities across the country. The Film Night in the Park series starts in June and runs through September, with screenings taking place in San Francisco and Marin County (San Rafael, Fairfax, Mill Valley, San Anselmo). All of the screenings are free, though donations are accepted.
The first film is the documentary Chasing Ice, a documentary that uses time-lapse photography to chronicle the shrinking of glaciers. Other films throughout the summer include Skyfall, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Argo, Singin’ in the Rain, Moonrise Kingdom, Jurassic Park, Hugo, Return of the Jedi, and Brave.
