We all know that Fantastic Four sucked, right? No point in beating that dead horse. Well, other than the fact that it’s fun. It really sucked.
The films writer/producer, Simon Kineberg, is still super excited about making another movie. Coming from a place that’s slightly between denial and complete insanity he told MTV that he wasn’t quite sure that the movie really sucked yet, but he’ll be doing a full deep dive on it soon. Way to deflect. He also deflected when asked about the film’s production woes.
What he didn’t deflect about were his continuing plans for a sequel saying, “I’m really focused on the next one …We’re figuring out what that movie would be.” He also said that he hopes that he can get the entire cast back for it because he thinks there’s a good Fantastic Four movie somewhere with that cast.
One does have to start asking if holding on to the Fantastic Four rights is even worth it for Fox anymore. The last one lost so much money it has to have some executives wondering if they can even pull it off. Part of this is probably just saving face since Marvel would most likely jump in and make a fantastically awesome film.
