Alice Eve, Diane Kruger, and Rosamund Pike are all in the running to play a female leading role in the upcoming Superman directed by Zach Snyder. What’s surprising about this news is that none of these leading ladies are tapped for Lois Lane. Some are speculating the casting is for Cat, the third wheel in a Lois & Clark love triangle and I’m sure there’s a pun in there about catfights among Hollywood blondes looking to bang out a blockbuster but it’s really too early in the morning for that.
Frankly, I won’t be surprised if it turns out Kruger fills the shoes of the iconic role of Lois, instead. People have been known to test for one role and assume the other. Personally, when I wonder who should play Lois Lane in a Zach Snyder Superman I think “whoever deserves to take a hit to her future career prospects” but I know he has his supporters out there so, how about it? Who do you see opposite The Man of Steel in the kind of balls-to-the-wall depiction we’re likely to receive?
