Remember Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightening Thief? You know, that movie based on a series of young-adult fiction novels? The same movie that 20th Century Fox tried to cram down our holes as the next Harry Potter? No? Yea, me neither.
Despite a lukewarm response both critically and commercially, Collider is reporting that 20th Century Fox still has plans to produce the sequel to last years Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightening Thief. Scott Alexander & Larry Karaszewski are set to adapt The Sea of Monsters, the second novel in the Percy Jackson series. While Chris Columbus is expected to ditch the directors chair, he will stay on the project as a producer. Logan Lerman (Percy) is already attatched to return, with the other “olympians” to follow suit.
I never bothered to watch Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightening Thief up until a recent trip to Colombia where i was forced to watch the film dubbed in Spanish on a bus. Despite being some kind of awful, I managed to stay awake for Rosario Dawson. Shallow? Hell yes, but watching Rosario Dawson play a sultry she-devil was definitely needed for the spank ba….um….nevermind.
