How long is it socially appropriate to wait after a significant public figure dies until you buy the movie rights to their life? According to Sony – about five seconds. The company announced last Friday that they had moved in to acquire the movie rights to Walter Isaacson’s upcoming book about the last two years of Job’s life, Steve Jobs, which features interviews with Jobs, his family, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues.
The book doesn’t come out until late October 2011, so don’t expect to see the movie anytime soon.
