Star Trek 3 grabbing new writers

0

Rumors are popping up that two new writers have been brought on for the next Star Trek film as Kurtzman, Orci and Lindelof leave to go mess around with some other beloved franchise. Bad Robot, JJ Abrams production company, isn’t veering too far away, however, as they promote from within with writers selected by Orci and Kurtzman who are still involved with the movie as producers.

So who are the two newcomers? Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz who wrote Thor and worked on X-Men: First Class. They also worked on the TV Fringe, which is probably their in with Bad Robot. This is all rumors right now so nothing could come of it, but if so we might be getting at least a slightly new slant on Star Trek.

That’s good news to me. While I enjoyed Into Darkness I’m getting a little tired of the rehashing, and I’m hoping the two new writers will actually boldly go where no one has gone before. The end of the last film definitely set it up.
