Cloverfield was released in 2008 as a found footage alien/monster flick and it was pretty bad. No apologies. Then it had a “sequel” in 2016, 10 Cloverfield Lane, which didn’t seem to have much to do with the original (avoiding spoilers), but was a much better movie. Now, get ready for a third installment in J.J. Abrams’ sort-of-makes-sense trilogy, to air direct to Netflix, directly after the Super Bowl.
