[From March 9th – 17th, Flixist will be providing coverage from South by Southwest 2013 in Austin, TX. Prepare yourselves for reviews, interviews, features, photos, videos, and all types of shenanigans!]
Sometimes, SXSW isn’t everything it’s cracked up to be. While Matt, Hubert, and I found a lot of things to love about SXSW and the Film portion of the festival, others come to SXSW solely for the Music half. Unfortunately, when it’s your first year, everything can be so overwhelming. With bands, rappers, musicians, and artists playing everything from street corners to outdoor music stages, you have to have a solid plan to ensure you take full advantage of all of the free music.
My buddy Nick Astro attended his first SXSW this year and had a little trouble finding exactly what made the festival so special. To cope with his inability to “find” SXSW, he and I teamed up to shoot and direct a few short films detailing his experience in Austin, TX. Above is the latest entry in the series, “Nick Astro Found SXSW,” complete with a cameo from your favorite Reviews Editor. Below is the first installment, “SXSW hasn’t happened.”
Let us know what you think, and keep your eyes peeled for the final installment later this week.
