On Friday the 13th, we should probably expect some bloody morsels of horror news to slink and stalk our way, and that’s just what we have with this teaser for 50 States of Fright. It’s only 10 seconds long, so you can’t get much more of a tease than this.
At least this Sam Raimi-produced anthology wastes no time giving us the goods. We got a creepy hand grasping out of a hay bale, a slasher-type carrying a limp body into a stone cellar, blood across a shower curtain, and a lady’s torn up monster face. Cool.
The bad news is, of course, that this is coming to Quibi. I’d be interested in seeing these short bits of horror in under-ten-minute bursts, but the pricing and minimal app service still keep my wallet firmly anchored in my pants. Hopefully it’ll get recut into a movie if Quibi goes under.
50 States of Fright is scheduled to land on the streaming service in April, but given that it’s not a part of Quibi’s launch lineup I’d expect it later in the month.
