By Here is your first very brief look at Hayao Miyazaki’s new film, The Wind Rises. The footage aired on Japanese television and reveals a kind of pastoral whimsy and a bird plane. It’s not much (about 30 seconds), but it’s very pleasant for what it is.
The Wind Rises is a biopic that focuses on the life of Jiro Horikoshi, the man who designed the Zero fighter plane in WWII.
The Wind Rises will be out in Japan later this year. No word yet on international release plans. Also, bird plane!
