Teaser Trailer: Unforgiven (Yurusarezaru mono)

Above is our first teaser for Lee Sang-il’s Yurusarezaru mono, the Japanese remake of Clint Eastwood’s Unforgiven starring Ken Watanabe. And you know what? This might be stellar. It’s just a teaser trailer, but it looks like it’ll be gorgeous to watch. I’m especially curious how the western sensibility and the samurai sensibility will crossover.

The basics of the plot, as Twitch explains:

Ken Watanabe takes the lead as a traditional thinker holding to his samurai code – despite the shifting standards of the late 1800s – who takes a job as a bounty killer.

Unforgiven opens in Japan on September 13, 2013. Expect international release information in the coming months.
