Tenet is likely getting delayed again according to industry analyst

Tenet

According to a new report from MKM Partners’ Eric Handler, Christopher Nolan’s Tenet is likely to suffer another delay in release (making this its 900th delay). As Variety reports, Handler believes that it would be truly shocking if cinemas reopened before September with coronavirus cases beginning to surge again in Florida, Texas, and California. In fact, California’s governor put the state into lockdown yesterday following the stark increase in reported cases.

This news is likely not what fans want to hear, but it would be the right call to make. People shouldn’t be outside in a time where records for reported cases are being broken every day. Because our nation is so hell-bent on individual freedoms, people have been dying just to get the economy back to a state of normalcy.

I can understand wanting that, but the release of Tenet isn’t worth dying over. No movie, no matter how life-affirming or grand it is, is worth that. Handler also mentioned the release of Disney’s live-action Mulan remake, though it is hard to say what the House of Mouse will do. The company recently reopened parks in Orlando, Florida despite coronavirus cases skyrocketing in the region.

Whatever does happen, don’t expect to be watching Tenet anytime soon. I wouldn’t even count on a 2020 release at this rate.
