It was no small thing to introduce the likes of Boba Fett in The Mandalorian‘s second season, and now the original bounty-chasing space hombre himself is getting his due with a trailer for The Book of Boba Fett, an original series tracking the legendary operator’s post-Mando machinations. Chills.
The new trailer features ‘ol Boba (Temuera Morrison) and his mercenary partner-in-crime Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) routing back to Tattooine, where you might recall Fett having a near-fatal encounter with a sarlacc; the Great Pit of Carkoon, a real tourist trap! In a post-Jabba the Hutt world, the criminal enterprises of Tattooine have gone all funky. Enter: Fett. Looking to bring order to the dunes of the criminal wasteland, the Mando’s got his work cut out for him.
The Mandalorian‘s crew largely returns, with Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson executive producing, with Robert Rodriguez–who helmed Boba’s big return episode in season two–back for more as a producer as well as director.
Though the new trailer should prove satisfying for Mando fans, rest assured Din Djarin’s saga isn’t over yet, with the third season of The Mandalorian in production likely as I type. Those Disney dollars keep the lights on in a big way, it seems.
Heck, I’m a sucker for it. The Book of Boba Fett looks like it’ll deliver a terrific season of Star Wars sights and stories to satiate fans old and new, whether they know the difference between an E-11 or an EE-3 blaster rifle.
