I’m not saying an Evil Dead reboot would be as bad as the Holocaust, but I’m already making inquiries into purchasing a somber-looking building for an Evil Dead Reboot Museum. The continuance of the Evil Dead series has been a longstanding topic of discussion since Sam Raimi released Army of Darkness. There have been rumors and plans for a fourth Evil Dead, remaking the film with Bruce Campbell still as Ash, remaking the movie entirely. If they wanted to do an adaptation of

, I certainly wouldn’t mind. Anyway, the rumor mill around this has been silent for quite some time, until now. Robert Tapert, Sam Raimi’s nigh-constant producer, had this to say on the subjet:
“[An Evil Dead reboot is] possible; we’re looking at a script this month… What’s interesting about ‘Evil Dead’ is very few people saw it in the format we made it for, which is for the theater. … I think Sam wants to embrace the ultimate experience in grueling terror and see it remade for a proper theatrical experience.â€
I’ve got a better idea. How about we enjoy the film that’s already been made and try something new…
