By Much to fans’ chagrin, Peter Jackson has announced that The Hobbit will not be appearing at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. His reason for the movie’s absence this year is that he just “felt it was too early. There’s so much more of the films still to shoot.” So, if you think about it, what he’s saying he’d rather make the movie first, then promote it after it’s actually finished. Which I think is a very respectable idea, and a smart decision that would have been made differently by a lot of directors in today’s economy.
Jackson hasn’t left his fans with absolutely nothing this weekend though! He has released a new Hobbit production vlog on his Facebook page which you can find below. This is now the third Hobbit vlog Jackson has released. The first two are here and here.
