While The Irishman has been in theaters for a couple of weeks, many anxiously await its Netflix release. Whether it’s due to relese availability, pure laziness, or bladders too small to make it through a three-and-a-half hour film without pausing, Martin Scorsese’s new epic is days away. To help tide the holdouts, Netflix released one final trailer replete with the variously aged Robert DeNiro.
The film covers a multitude of years, and CGI’s limits are put to the test to make DeNiro look extremely young then slightly less young. Same goes for Al Pacino and Joe Pesci, the latter gracing the world with his first on-screen film in nearly a decade. The final trailer reveals more glimpses of how Frank Sheeran (DeNiro) got his start in organized crime in a post-WWII world where packing meat trucks wasn’t cutting it. As one can imagine, small things lead to big things, peaking with the disappearance of one Jimmy Hoffa (Pacino). Three legendary actors with guns, explosions, and a nod to the JFK assassination create the potential for this to become Scorsese’s masterpiece, to which the reviews allude.
The Irishman is in theaters now, and arrives to Netflix on November 27th.
