Remember the time rock ‘n’ roll superstar Elvis Presley petitioned then-President Richard Nixon for a badge to become a federal narcotics agent? You don’t hear about it in history class, but it happened – and thanks to Amazon Studios, you’ll be able to see it on the big screen come April when Elvis & Nixon hits theaters.
The studio has released the first trailer for the film – which you can check out below – and it actually looks pretty decent. Starring Micahel Shannon and Kevin Spacey as Elvis and Nixon, respectively (come to think about it, aside from some make-up Spacey isn’t playing a president all that different than the other one he’s known for). It’s basically a longer version of that episode of Drunk History, except with a bigger budget and fewer blasted comedians.
Also starring Colin Hanks, Tracy Letts and Dylan Penn, Elvis & Nixon hits theaters on April 15.
