‘The Martian Chronicles’ rights purchased by Paramount

Paramount has picked up movie rights to The Martian Chronicles, the short story collection by the indelible Ray Bradbury. First published in 1950, the series of stories about humans leaving Earth to colonize Mars have been very influential to the world of science fiction.

John Davis is set to produce the film, but as of yet there is no screenwriter attached to it. As expected, there are a lot of people who are cautious of the project. The story will most likely be expensive to make and would have to be handled correctly in order to stay an uprising of rabid Bradbury fans. Myself included.
