Way back in the old days of September, a small indonesian film called The Raid was making waves at the Toronto International Film Festival. When the red band trailer was unleashed, the Flixist collective suffered from a bad case of bro-boners (or broners) due to the amount of ball-punching awesomeness showcased. While the film did well enough to fast track a sequel and a American remake, we were left with our broners in our hand wondering if we’ll ever have the chance to sex up the original here in the good ol’ US-of-A.
While it was already known that Sony subsidiary group Screen Gems will be handling the remake, in a surprise move (not really) Sony Pictures Classics will be responsible with distributing the original film. The Raid will see a Spring release date and is rumored to feature a new soundtrack produced by Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda. I’m not really sure about that last part, but I’m too excited to even care at this point
Is it Spring yet?
