By We’re pretty big fans of The Simpsons here at Flixist. We’ve done lists, we’ve made every possible reference we could, and poke around our posts long enough and you’ll find at least 65% of them have Simpsons gags as the lede joke or header photo. While I’m the only one of us who still follows the show every Sunday, its creator Matt Groening has earned a lot of respect from us for not only The Simpsons’ long run, but Futurama’s short but sweet run as well.
So hearing he’s heading up another project is a great, great thing. According to Variety, Netflix has ordered two ten episode seasons of Groening’s next animated show. There are no further details like story, cast, or even title as of yet, but given Groening’s pedigree getting excited is okay. As Netflix doubles their original content over the next few years, here’s hoping this is one of the better ones.
