[From April 19th to the 29th, Flixist will bring you live coverage of the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City. Keep an eye out for news, features, interviews, videos, and reviews of some of the most anticipated films to hit the festival circuit in 2012.]
Film festivals are awesome. You get a chance to see all sorts of awesome movies long before their national release (assuming they ever get one), and then you can spend the rest of that time bragging to your friends about how cool you are. Sure, you might also see movies that make you regret existing, but that’s to be expected given how many films some of these festivals show.
Take, for example, Tribeca 2012, which kicks off on Thursday of this week (April 19th), and which we will be covering for the next two weeks. More than ninety films are being shown, starting with The Five Year Engagement and ending with The Avengers. That’s a lot of movies, but we will be seeing and reviewing every single one of them nonetheless.
Just kidding. None of us hate ourselves that much. Seriously though, we’re going to be bringing you a crazy amount of coverage over the next few weeks, from reviews to interviews to ways that you can enjoy the festival from the comfort of your own couch. If you happen to be in New York City, though, Hubert, Andres, and I will be bouncing around Tribeca throughout the coming weeks, so you should give us a shout out.
