I’m dusting off my lute and quill,
I have some news, some mead to spill:
After all the months we’ve been apart
It’s time for production to restart.
The Witcher and his bard – who’s flawless,
Will reunite on set 17 August.— The Witcher (@witchernetflix) June 22, 2020
After short delay in production that became a couple of months hiatus, Netflix will be resuming production on The Witcher – Season Two on August 17, 2020. The follow-up to the massively successful first season of adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s series of novels, the show had filming on its second season delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic that swept across the globe.
One of the actors tested positive for COVID-19 and everyone was sent home so the crew could properly clean the set. It seems that those troubles are now over. With filming taking place in the UK, new guidelines released by the British Film Commission and UK broadcasters will enable Netflix to continue work on Geralt’s story. The second season likely won’t be finished before 2020, but at least everyone is safe and work can resume.
