La-Z-Boy? It’s more like Cra-Z-Boy, if you ask me, in this first trailer for Killer Sofa. This is a movie about a (very comfortable looking) murderous chair. It has big, dumb, cartoon eyes like Winnie the Pooh did in Christopher Robin, but instead of only looking like it could kill someone, this plush bit of butt comfort goes all the way! I love it. I love so few tings in this world (least of all myself), but I love every second of this ridiculous trailer.
Killer Sofa follows Francesca, a young woman dealing with a flawed love life full of stalkers and weirdos–but it’s about to get a whole lot worse when a recliner owned by a disgraced rabbi gets possessed by some kind of demon, and now it’s obsessed with the woman and starts performing grisly crimes of passion on her behalf. Cool.
Did some folks just find a chair that looked like it had a face and decided to make a horror movie out of it? Maybe. That’s all the reason that it should take, and I’m thrilled they did. Killer Sofa will recline onto your living rooms when it releases on DVD and VOD this October.
