So far we haven’t gotten much detail about the sequel to the meh/adequate/Shakespearean Thor. All we know is that Kat Dennings is getting an extended role, Zachary Levi is one of the Warriors Three, and Christopher Eccleston is playing some elf guy named Malekith. Thankfully, we now have a plot synopsis…that doesn’t really give us information either.
Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
So…the official synopsis says that Malekith is the bad guy and Thor is trying to relocate Jane (“Me Thor. You Jane.”) which any of us could have guessed after Avengers when Jane was only referenced in passing. I guess we’ll have to wait for a trailer for the real juicy stuff.
