Fact: “Google Doodle” is hard to say quickly. Today’s doodle celebrates the life and work of Mary Blair, an artist and animator who worked for Disney in the 1940s and 50s. Her illustration style, reminiscent of cubism, catapulted modern art into the world of animation and influenced a generation of animators.
Blair drew the concept art for such films as Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Song of the South and Cinderella. As well as designing rides for Disneyland, specifically It’s a Small World. The Google Doodle coincides with a Los Angeles tribute to the artist.
