Oh god. Birdemic: Shock and Terror, though I didn’t like it, only deserves remembrance since it falls into that wonderful “so bad it’s good” sweet spot. It’s something you can’t do intentionally unless you’re the Trost brothers. Now, it looks like writer/director James Nguyen has learned exactly why so many people love his movie and has decided to make an “intentionally” bad movie. Hell, the entire teaser is a riff on the now-infamous shawarma scene from The Avengers and a reference to not having enough money for 3D.
Obviously, this is a seriously small clip, but it doesn’t bode well for shlock fans. Tommy Wiseau was never entertaining again after he started trying to be funny, and I fear the same for James Nguyen.
