Taking the Bourne series past a trilogy without the man who defined it, Matt Damon, seems like an almost impossible task. Judging from the trailer above, though, we’re in for a big treat. Basically they’ve put the awesome Jeremy Renner into Matt Damon’s shoes and cranked this sucker up to eleven.
I love that almost the entire trailer is devoted to making us all believe that this is basically the Bourne films taken to the next level. With Tony Gilroy, screenwriter for the previous three films and director of Michael Clayton, taking the director’s chair were sure to see a guy who understands the movies and can also direct the heck out of it. Whatever he does at least we got a really great trailer out of it. Love the moving bar aesthetic thing they’re doing.
